River Bend Cottages - Georgetown, ME Home | Boat Yard | Cottages
Cozy cottages with Maine charm
The cottages are nestled on a half mile long peninsula in the midcoast region of maine. For thirty years the owners, Sam and Ruth Francis, have lived and operated a traditional wooden boat shop on this unique fifty acre property. Over the years, as time permitted, they have built five charming cottages, a garden house, a ten slip boat dock, a hiking trail, clearings for fishing and picnicing, planted gardens, raised four sons and finally are completing their timber frame dream home.

Recently, they decided to share this haven with guests. The cottages are situated to allow privacy but also to maintain the quality of the open, natural spaces. Each cottage overlooks the saltmarsh and adjacent Back River which flows off the mighty
Kennebec.

This season, for the very first time, an additional 3 bedroom, 2 bath summer home located at the very tip of the peninsula is available. This special place comes with private dock, panoramic sun porch and deck overlooking the water and all the comforts of a complete home.

Some visitors have described Riverbend as a "place of rest". "Our goal is for all who come here to experience the same relaxation and renewal that this tranquil setting has always brought to us." Sam and Ruth Francis, proprietors

Conveniently located, River Bend Cottages are less than:

Testimonials

Sheepscott
We have had a delightful variety of guests:

Josh and Alison, recent law school graduates, stayed in "Sasanoa" for two months to study for the bar.......they both passed!
Jonathan and Pam, university professors from N.Y.C., spent a month in the "Kennebec" cottage. They were both writing books during their stay. Pam shares, "In a lovely spot, shaded by tall pines, the Kennebec cottage is quiet, clean, full of light , well maintained, and utterly relaxing. It feels remote yet is actually close to the beach, a swimming lake, and a dirt cheap lobster pound."

Michelle and her daughter, Emma, were guests in the "Loft". In Michelle's Christmas newsletter she relates: "The Loft overlooks an inlet where the sun would set and the moon would shine like no other place on earth. We awoke one morning to see two eagles flying overhead..........We spent all day at Reid State Park splashing around.......We had Ben and Jerry's ice cream every night......ate steamers and lobsters at The Lobster pound.......what a fabulous time."

Sasanoa

David and Sherri, gourmet restaurant owners from New Jersey, even invited us to dinner one night to celebrate David's birthday and he did the cooking. What a meal!!!
